Final Reflection
It was 11:45pm. All of my homework was nearing completion and a wave a relief fell over me, knowing that I would soon be asleep in my comfortable bed. As I am finishing up some final math problems, I give myself a pat on the back knowing that I will be in bed before midnight tonight. While brushing my teeth, thinking about my always exciting A days that occur on Monday, I realized that I had forgotten something- a blog post! Being only my second post, I had not gotten accustomed to having homework that was not assigned the previous class, as it just had slipped my mind! I was dreading it- wishing I was in bed and could not find the motivation to open my laptop again. Knowing it was due in only a mere couple of hours, I forced myself to get started. I sat on my bed, reading the prompt that Mrs. Genesky had proposed, dealing with our name and the origin behind it. As a began the research for the post, I actually found it quite enjoyable learning about my own name and expressing my opinions on the meaning. Before I knew it, I had written more than enough for my blog post while learning about my name in the process, and was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be!
I quickly learned to get my blog posts done during the week or early in the weekend so I had time to complete it thoroughly. I grew accustomed to the bi-weekly deadlines and enjoyed writing about things that were related to content in our English class. I feel that writing these blog posts have supplemented my writing skills in a positive way and allow a bit more in-depth analysis of the novels or topics that are discussed in class. One of my favorite part of the blog posts are the comments, both writing and receiving. Writing comments for others allowed me to read and learn from the other perspectives of my peers' posts, as well receive feedback on my own work. Overall, these posts have helped me tremendously with not only my writing but also developing analytical skills and learning to improve through constructive criticism of my peers.
Monsieur Bush, Ce poste est très pensif... I actually can relate to this so much because you and I have had many late homework nights together. Trusting the process, and becoming a master at what is able to be mastered is critical to surviving IB English Part II. I agree that receiving the comments on an interesting blog post is really cool, and insightful to how others perceive your work. Anways, dilly dilly Monsieur.
